Bruynzeel is pleased to announce that Emily Parsons, Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at Liverpool John Moores University has won its ‘Guess the Archive’ competition, which took place at this year’s ARA Conference.

Emily receives a prize of a £50 Amazon voucher. “I still can’t believe I got the most right,” she said. “I never win anything! Some I knew for certain, but I must have been very lucky with my guesses.”

The quiz was held at the ARA Conference 2017 in Manchester on 30-31 August. Emily was the out-and-out winner, correctly identifying 9 of the 11 archives from photographs of their exterior – with a few visual and cryptic clues thrown in for good measure.

“It was a tough quiz,” said Bruynzeel’s Rob Dakin. “We might have to make it a bit easier next time! Big congratulations to Emily and thanks to all who took part in the competition.”

The 11 archives were:

1. Alnwick Castle

2. Ceredigion Archives

3. Cumbria Archives Service

4. London Metropolitan Archives

5. Dudley Archives

6. Denbighshire Archives

7. Central Library and Archive, Liverpool

8. M&S Company Archive

9. National Library of Wales Archives, Aberystwyth

10. BFI National Film Archives

11. Glasgow Archives (Mitchell Library)
