The Ingres Museum in Montauban houses a collection of artworks and artefacts by French Neoclassical painter Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, and works by another famous native of Montauban, the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. When the museum repository was arranging to move to a new location, there was an opportunity to design its archive storage afresh. Important considerations for the installation were the safe storage of the collection and ease of access for archivists. Bruynzeel was tasked with creating a tailored solution for various artefacts in the museum’s collection.
Bruynzeel’s ArteStore Terra and ArteStore static painting racks were chosen for the storage of paintings. The major advantage of the pull-out painting frames is that the artworks are easily accessible, while maximising the use of available space.
