Bruynzeel Heads to Quito for the ICOM Storage & ICAMT Conference 2026

From 18 to 21 November 2026, Bruynzeel will be joining museum professionals from around the world in Quito, Ecuador, for the 52nd ICAMT & 1st ICOM Storage Annual Conference. As a proud sponsor, we're excited to be part of the conversation about the future of museum spaces, collections, and storage.

Bringing museum storage into the spotlight
This year's conference, hosted at Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, brings together experts to explore how museums can become more sustainable, innovative, and accessible. From museum architecture and exhibition design to collection care and storage, the event offers an opportunity to exchange ideas and rethink how we protect and share cultural heritage.

At Bruynzeel, we believe museum storage is about more than finding space for collections. It's about protecting valuable objects, making the most of available space, and ensuring collections remain accessible for future generations.

Featured speaker
We're especially proud that Jasper Hunnekens will be joining the conference as a featured speaker with his presentation:

"Stored, Yet Seen: The Reality and Responsibility of Visible Storage."

As museums increasingly explore ways to make stored collections more visible to the public, important questions arise. How do we balance accessibility with preservation? And how can storage spaces become part of the visitor experience without compromising the safety of collections? These are exactly the kinds of challenges shaping the future of museum storage, and we're looking forward to contributing to the discussion.
